The Modern Artisan
Updated: Mar 27, 2019
Today's post is all about a new project I am delighted to be a part of - the launching of The Modern Artisan! The genuine interest in our handmade products and our creative workshops, at the Ottawa Maker Faire and during other events, have encouraged us to move forward with our mission to introduce craftsmanship to digital fabrication. And so....my husband and I have teamed up with two friends and have launched, The Modern Artisan, an online platform that contains educational DIY activity ideas, and how to make STEAM project tutorials for crafters, parents and kids!
Our website - The Modern Artisan - showcases as well :
the artisan workshops we are currently offering,
a glimpse at our new handmade products, digital patterns and pre-assembled projects in a box - all launching soon,
more details about who we are and why we decided to embark on this creative adventure,
and the many more innovative STEAM projects coming in the near future...
We love what we do, and not only because it's fun, but mostly because our products highlight the amazing things we can create when we take the time to learn the ancient craft of leather working, and integrate it with new tools found in a digital fabrication laboratory (Fab Lab). You can see an example of this in the photo above!
I invite you to visit our website, and if you love what you see don't hesitate to subscribe. As a thank you, we will be offering special promotions to our subscribers, as our community members at The Modern Artisan continues to grow.
Oh and before you ask, my website, this blog and my Instagram and Pinterest pages aren't going anywhere. I will continue to write about the topics you love, those that brought you to subscribe in the first place; i.e. the unique design stories about home decor, how to design tips and the various maker and DIY/craft projects I have constantly in the works!
As always, thanks for readying !
